Having an establish track record in the field of IT education and Workplace Readiness training OKCL was entrusted with a project to train 554 employees of Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) trainees from different location of Odisha on workplace readiness skills. In the context of the speed at which the industry workforce needs to adapt to various modes of working, whether they be work-from-home, online work or accomplishing large task sets through technology, OMC recognized a need to train the workforce on 21st century workplace readiness skills. Employees play a pivotal role in contributing towards organisational success and hence, need clarity on the concepts of IT and need to be trained to be able to utilise IT & ITES facilities to improve workplace productivity. OMC training was proposed to be carried out in nine locations in Odisha, including the Head Office of OMC in Bhubaneswar. The training covered various aspects such as MS Office/ Word/ Excel/ Power Point/ Google & Internet tools, etc.
A Total of OMC’s 554 trainees were identified from all factory locations of OMC including Bangur (Keonjhar), Barbil (Keonjhar), Bhubaneswar (Head Office), Daitari (Keonjhar), Kaliapani (Jajpur), Laxmipur-(Rayagada), Rayagada, Suakati (Keonjhar), Jhilling (Keonjhar), Kalahandi, Koida (Keonjhar).

- Employee engagement: Ensuring high levels of employee engagement and motivating them to participate in the training sessions, especially when dealing with a large group, was a concern.
- Tracking Progress: Monitoring and evaluating the progress of 554 trainees, tracking their performance during and after the training, and addressing any issues or gaps identified was a resource-intensive process.
- Time Constraints: Ensuring that the training was completed within the stipulated time frame set by OMC for workforce readiness was a challenging task in itself.
