About Finishing Schools

Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited, in collaboration with MKCL (Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited) as Knowledge Partner and Odisha State Open University as University Collaborator are going to bring the Finishing Schools work-based degree model to the State of Odisha.

Finishing Schools offers a series of Role Based and Work and Performance Centric distance education degree and post-graduate degree programs in different sectors. The programs under Finishing Schools are implemented in the real-life work environments of the industry.

These are in form of eLearning supported internship mode wherein the Learners get an intensive exposure, expertise and experience of wholesome work under the guidance of mentor. It’s an innovative learning through working paradigm through an attempt to seek a blend of the work environment and learning environment.

Finishing Schools attempts to address key challenges faced by the industry today. Challenges are:

• How to reduce attrition rates?
• How to develop workforce by continuous training and retraining and up-skilling?

By bringing in an educational innovation in form of Finishing Schools Work Based degree programs, it attempts to set up a transformative agenda for industries to become production cum learning environments. For this OKCL as Industry Interfacing Partner, shall establish partnerships with industries / organizations that can offer workplaces to the Learners, who are simultaneously enrolled for a relevant degree program at the Odisha State Open University.

Industry Partners from Service Sector will be providing workplace for the Learners / Interns enrolled for a degree in Business Administration.
