The Government of Odisha has taken a bold step towards preparing the next generation for the digital economy by launching State-Level Emerging Technologies Training Camps for secondary and higher secondary school students at ICONIC Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Andharua.
A Vision for Digital Odisha
The programme was inaugurated by Hon'ble Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Parliamentary Affairs, and Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Odisha, alongside Hon'ble Minister Shri Nithyananda Gond, Minister for School & Mass Education and allied departments.

Dr. Mukesh Mahaling emphasized that early exposure to emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, Robotics, and Cyber Security is essential for nation-building and public service readiness. He highlighted the transformative role of technology in healthcare, education, and governance.
Program Highlights
This initiative aligns with the Government of Odisha's vision of Digital Odisha and the National Education Policy 2020, with a strong focus on experiential, skill-oriented, and technology-enabled learning.
The training camps will provide hands-on exposure and live demonstrations across three cutting-edge technology domains:
IoT & Robotics
Hands-on experience with connected devices and robotic systems
Artificial Intelligence
Introduction to machine learning and AI applications
Cyber Security Awareness
Safe and responsible digital practices for students
Implementation & Expansion
The programme has been conceptualized by the Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) under the Electronics & Information Technology Department and is being implemented by Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited (OKCL) to ensure effective on-ground delivery across institutions.
In subsequent phases, the initiative is proposed to expand to cover all Government Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools, all Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas, and Government colleges and universities across Odisha.

The inaugural programme concluded with live technology demonstrations and interactive sessions, giving students an opportunity to experience real-world applications of emerging technologies firsthand. This hands-on approach ensures that students don't just learn about technology in theory but get to interact with it directly.
